Sorare Partners with Premier League

Sorare Global Fantasy Football recently announced that it has entered into a multi-year licensing deal with the Premier League. This move comes despite uncertainty within the crypto industry caused by recent failures of crypto companies and projects.

What Does The Deal Include?

Under this agreement, football fans around the world will be able to collect, buy, sell and trade officially licensed digital cards featuring every player from across all 20 Premier League clubs. Additionally, Sorare Managers will be able to play with Premier League stars of their choice in either Premier League or global competitions.

Length Of Deal

The partnership between Sorare and the Premier League is for a period of four years. People familiar with the matter said that “Sorare will pay the Premier League tens of millions of pounds a year to secure the rights,” while final payment for each year will depend on performance. There is also an option for the league to take an equity stake in Sorare during this period as well.

Celebrity Backers

Sorare has been backed by several popular figures including Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi which helped them partner with over 300 football clubs and teams around Europe’s top leagues including those in England, Spain, Italy etc.

Crypto Chaos Ignored

This partnership comes at a time when prices are rising but there are still numerous issues causing waves within crypto industries such as bankruptcies and staff layoffs due to failures like Terra, Three Arrows Capital and Celsius Network followed by FTX exchange collapse last year. Despite these problems however, Richard Masters – Chief Executive of the Premier League – was quoted as saying that they do not mind partnering up with Sorare given their reputation among investors and sponsors alike .
